Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) has started a new Airport Operations Control Centre (AOCC) to streamline airport functioning and offer a smoother experience for passengers and stakeholders.
Officially launched last month by Jeet Adani, Director of Adani Airport Holdings Limited (AAHL), it was announced by the airport on Monday. The centre is the nerve centre of the airport, carrying out real-time monitoring, managing incidents, and comprehensive operational planning.
“Staying ahead in today’s rapidly evolving aviation environment requires embracing innovation and agility. With the new AOCC powered by aviio, we’ve reimagined airport operations. Now, critical decisions can be made anytime, anywhere, ensuring better collaboration, quicker responses, and more efficient airport functioning,” Adani said.
The AOCC has a huge video walls measuring 37 metres that display real-time data feeds from all over the airport, ranging from terminals, baggage systems to airside operations. The system enables operators to identify problems early and respond in advance — be it to coordinate aircraft movements or react to emergencies.
“For travellers, these advances mean improved service delivery from faster baggage handling and more efficient security checks to streamlined boarding processes. Behind the scenes, employees can now communicate effortlessly, making travel more predictable and less stressful,” said the AAHL spokesperson.
