Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRTC) will add 20 electric buses, providing eco-friendly travel options along the Borivali-Thane-Nashik route.
The buses will be flagged off by Chief Minister Ekanth Shinde on Thursday. The price of a single trip will be Rs 405.
MSRTC has wet-leased 5,150 air-conditioned e-buses, with 20 buses added to the fleet for the Borivali-Thane-Nashik route. The corporation has also established e-bus charging stations at over 173 bus stops, ensuring uninterrupted service.
Tickets for these e-buses can be done through http://www.msrtc.maharashtra.gov.in or from the MSRTC mobile reservation app. Services from Mumbai to Nashik will commence on February 13, with return journeys from Nashik to Mumbai starting on February 14.
The MSRTC operates buses in remote areas of Maharashtra and also a few services in other states. With a fleet size of 15,945 buses, the MSRTC serves approximately 53 lakh commuters daily.
