The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) Konkan Board has rescheduled its housing lottery draw for the third time in a row, with the draw now set for October 11 instead of the earlier scheduled October 9.
The lottery covers 5,285 flats and 77 plots across Thane, Palghar, and Sindhudurg districts under multiple schemes, including the 20% inclusive housing scheme, integrated scheme, MHADA scheme, and other categories.
The lottery process began in July 2025, starting with online registration, verification, and application confirmation.
The initial registration period, from July 14 to August 13, 2025, was later extended to September 12, 2025 to accommodate additional applicants and the lottery has received overwhelming response.
The repeated extensions of the registration process also led to the deferment of the draw dates—now for the third time.
Over 1.58 lakh people registered to participate till final date of registration.
As per the revised schedule, the draft list of eligible applicants was originally scheduled for September 22, 2025, but was first postponed to September 30, however that too was deferred by a day and now it is set to be published on October 1, Wednesday.
The final list of applicants will be released on October 7, 2025, ahead of the draw.
Similarly, the draw date has been deferred from October 9 to October 11.
Officials cited the high number of applications as the reason for these delays, stating that additional time was needed to ensure accuracy in verification and preparation of the lists.
Applicants have expressed concern over the repeated postponements and lack of direct communication or intimation by the MHADA.
Many have deposited amounts for the registration of flats—some through loans—and are awaiting confirmation of eligibility of their applications.
“We are tracking our applications carefully and focusing on the lottery draw and the draft list to know if our application has been confirmed. But nothing is being shown on the website and also we are not getting intimation by MHADA about the change in dates on our registered mobile or email or even on the portal. Receiving proper information in time is crucial,” said one applicant, requesting anonymity.
The repeated rescheduling has drawn criticism, especially in comparison with the Mumbai Board, where lotteries for over 2.5 lakh applicants are conducted without delays once the registration process ends.
The Konkan Board has assured applicants that the draft list will be published on October 1, 2025, and the lottery draw will take place on October 11, 2025.
