(File Photo)The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) has filed a complaint with the Cyber Cell on Tuesday after detecting a fake website of its, in which citizens are given an option to pay deposits for its recent lottery of 2,030 houses in Mumbai.
The fake website provides users an option to pay Rs 50,000 directly and getting “receipts”.
MHADA’s official statement said that it never demands direct payments without completing the official application process. The entire procedure, from registration to the handover of flats, is conducted online, with no cash transactions or intermediaries involved.

Sanjeev Jaiswal, CEO of MHADA, in an official statement said that the allocation of lottery flats is done exclusively through a secure, fully online computerized system, free from human interference.
He cautioned citizens to be wary of any promises or claims made outside this official process.
