Dance was not really a concern for Genelia in Chance Pe Dance...

You are not known for your dance moves. Why did you choose to play the role of a choreographer?
Thankfully,there was not a lot of dancing for my character. So it was quite okay. In spite of that,had it been an out-and-out dance film,I would have been as much on board as my character demanded.

So what did your character demand in the film?
The main thought that makes up the film is the days of struggling spent by anyone who wants to succeed. Ive seen that phase. Many will relate to the film because they have worked hard to realise their dreams. If people relate to my character,my purpose as an actor is served.

How was it matching steps with Shahid Kapoor,who is known to be a great dancer?
I didnt have to dance with him as such. Dance is just an aspect of the film and not the whole film. I play his choreographer so wherever required,I do display a certain amount of dancing skills and there,matching steps with Shahid wasnt difficult.

News of you replacing Jiah Khan in the film continues to haunt you even today.
Only the makers of the film can comment on this. Chance Pe Dance was a great script; if it wasnt me,then someone else would have been roped in easily for the role.

Did you require a special workout for the toned and fit look?
There was not too much dancing involved for my character. So,there was no training for any kind of dance forms.

Hook Ya Crook and Its My Life are in the pipeline.
Hook Ya Crooks on. Theres one schedule thats left and then we will be ready for release soon after I guess. Its My Life with Harman Baweja is lined up for a 2010 release. Also in the south,I have one film each in Tamil and Telugu that should release this year too.

With Big Switch garnering rave reviews,will we see more of you on TV?
TV is a great medium to connect with people. I think I need to understand it better though. Theres not much happening right now. Once I understand the medium perfectly,I will give it my best shot once again.
