A SPECIAL court on Thursday sentenced a 54-year-old man to ten years in jail for sexual assault of a minor girl and also convicted his 44-year-old sister for abetting the crime. The 44-year-old sister too was sentenced to ten years in jail. According to the complaint, the victim lived with her family. The 44-year-old was their neighbour. In February 2018, she requested the victim to stay with her at night, claiming that she was alone and scared to sleep. The victim then went there. Later, the 54-year-old came home. At night, he began sexually harassing her. The victim tried to wake up the woman but she did not respond. In the morning, after the woman left, the accused again sexually assaulted the minor girl. He also threatened her that he had taken a video and continued to assault the minor by claiming that he will make it public. A few days later, the victim confided in her sister and a complaint was filed against the sibling duo.
