A 45-year-old man was drugged and robbed of Rs 22 lakh while he was on his way to a bank in Dahisar.

A 45-year-old man was drugged and robbed of Rs 22 lakh while he was on his way to a bank in Dahisar. According to Ashok Babaji Ladgavkar,an employee of Royal Tivekal Star Club,an unidentified man entered the autorickshaw he was travelling in and forcefully drugged him with chloroform. Ladgavkar was on his way to deposit the company’s money to Bharat Bank branch in Dahisar.

He told the police the accused pushed Ladgavkar from the autorickshaw and fled with the cash in the same auto. When Ladgavkar regained conscious,he realised his bag containing Rs 22 lakh was missing.

API M Raorane from the Kasturba Marg police station said they have registered a case of robbery. However,he said the police are verifying the claims made by Ladgavkar as his version has many loopholes. “If Ladgavkar was pushed out of a moving rickshaw,he must have suffered injuries and should have gone to the hospital. Instead he came to the police station and did not have any marks on his body.”
