Man dies by suicide in Nandigram Express

A person in his mid-30s allegedly died by suicide in the toilet of the Nandigram Express on Friday. The matter came to light when the train terminated at the Dadar station, and during inspection, RPF staff spotted the man hanging in the toilet with a cloth.

He was declared dead at Sion Hospital. The man was a Ghatkopar resident and had escaped to his village in Parbhani after a molestation case was lodged against him at the Ghatkopar police station last month, a police officer said.

The preliminary probe indicates that he died of suicide due to the stress of the criminal case filed against him. His family claimed that he was booked in a false case.

The Dadar GRP is trying to find out the exact cause behind the suicide. The deceased person worked as a labourer in Ghatkopar.
