The Mumbai Police Crime Branch Thursday arrested a man for the murder of his wife, whose body was found at Mulund dumping ground four days ago. “We learned that the patch of ground where the body was found is slotted for refuse from G-ward,” said an officer. The police found that a woman, Rakhadevi Gautam (26), went missing from Rajiv Gandhi Nagar. The woman’s husband Sanjay, a tailor, told the police that he had taken his wife to a temple in Virar where they got separated in the crowd. The police asked him if he had made a missing persons complaint to which Sanjay faltered. “We already knew that no such complaint had been registered. He confessed to having killed Rakhadevi as he suspected her of having an affair. He poisoned and assaulted her, and wrapped her body in plastic and threw it in the garbage dump,” an officer said.
