GOVERNOR RAMESH Bais accompanied by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis placed wreaths at the Police Martyrs’ Memorial on the premises of Mumbai Police Commissionerate on the 15th anniversary of the 26/11 terrorist attacks in Mumbai on Sunday.
A police platoon presented the “Salami Shastra” while bugles played “Last Post” at the function. The Governor, Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister later met the family members of the police personnel who lost their lives in the terror attack.
The ceremony was organised by the Mumbai Police to pay tributes to the police officers and jawans who laid down their lives during the terrorist attacks in Mumbai 15 years ago.
Later in the day, speaking at the Maharashtra Police Boys Association’s “Sangli to Mumbai Mashal Shaheed Run” in memory of martyrs of 26/11 at Gateway of India,
Fadnavis said the state government is committed to solving the hardships faced by police who safeguard the citizens constantly. “We have always tried to solve the issues. Be it of housing or extending free medical treatment. We will soon be ensuring free medical treatment to retired police officials,” said Fadnavis.
