Maharashtra got highest FDI at 39% of total investment in country: Bais

“The state has attracted highest FDI at Rs 65,500 crore, which accounts for 38.78 percent of total investment in country,” Bais said adding that through package schemes of investments, it has approved 75 projects with investments worth Rs 61,576 crore and 53,000 employment opportunities.

During the World Economic Forum summit held at Davos, the state signed MoUs of Rs 3.53 lakh crore promising employment to two lakh people, the governor said adding a lot of impetus has been given on rural employment through skill development programmes.

The Nagpur-Mumbai Maharashtra Samruddhi Mahamarg, which has become operational, is set for further expansion. It has also been proposed a four-lane Sindkhedraja to Shegaon, Bhandara-Gadchiroli, Nagpur-Chandrapur, Nagpur-Gondia and Jalna to Nanded, he said.

The governor also said that towards making 5,700 villages free of water scarcity, the government has enforced Jalyukta Shivar Abhiyan in these villages.
This is the second phase of the project.

In 13 districts covering 43 talukas, 1,442 villages will have Atal Bhujal Yojna. Administrative approval has been given to 68 irrigation projects to bring 13 lakh hectares of land under irrigation for which Rs 80,000 crore has been approved.

The Governor reiterated government’s commitment to farmers, for which huge incentives are doled out. He also stressed on the government’s commitment to make medical care accessible to common man.
