Maharashtra govt denies nod to BRS to shower rose petals on warkaris
K Chandrashekhar Rao is on a two-day visit to state from today

The Maharashtra government has denied permission to the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) led by Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao to shower rose petals on warkaris at Pandharpur from a helicopter, during Rao’s two-day visit to Maharashtra from Monday.
According to highly placed sources, “The BRS wanted to shower rose petals on warkaris during the pilgrimage at Pandharpur using a helicopter. But the government has not given permission.”
KCR along with his council of ministers and elected members of state legislative assembly and members of Parliament in Pandharpur remains unchanged. They will arrive in Pandharpur on Monday and will visit a temple dedicated to Lord Vitthal in Pandharpur on Tuesday. The warkaris undertake a month-long pilgrimage to Pandharpur during this time every year.
BRS Kisan Cell chief Manik Kadam said, “KCR had visited Pandharpur temple in the past. This time the entire Telangana cabinet led by CM will be at Pandharpur.”
The BRS is working to gain a foothold in Maharashtra ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections with its rallies in Marathwada and Vidarbha region of Maharashtra drawing huge crowds.
From recruitment of workers to participation in state pilgrimage, BRS is trying to connect with the people, especially farmers.
Recently, KCR opened a BRS office and held a public rally at Nagpur, the headquarters of RSS. The party now plans to set up offices at Aurangabad, Pune and Mumbai.
The deputy chief minister Devendra Fadnavis said, “Everybody who wishes to come to Pandharpur temple to worship Lord Vitthal is welcome… If KCR is coming as a pilgrim to Pandharpur along with cabinet ministers to seek darshan we welcome them… there should be no politics when you undertake pilgrimage to Pandharpur.”
