Mafatlal case: ‘Disputes not resolved through mediation’

Industrialist Atulya Mafatlal’s daughter Marushka on Monday told HC that the Mafatlal family was not able to resolve its disputes through mediation.

Industrialist Atulya Mafatlal’s daughter Marushka on Monday told HC that the Mafatlal family was not able to resolve its disputes through mediation.

The statement was made by her lawyer before the division Bench of Justice V M Kanade and Justice P D Kode,which is presently hearing the case.

The judges have now asked the court-appointed mediator to submit an official failure report to the court within a period of one week.

In October last year,senior lawyer Rafiq Dada had been appointed as a mediator by the court,which had asked industrialist Atulya Mafatlal and his estranged socialite wife Sheetal Mafatlal to settle their disputes in an amicable manner. The court had then directed that all pending criminal cases,including a case of domestic violence filed by Sheetal,should be stayed till the mediation process was pending.

A petition had also been filed in the matter by a private investment firm named Mangalya Trading and Investments Ltd.
