American metal band Korns first tour of India has now been shortened to two cities after their concert at the MMRDA grounds in Mumbai was cancelled on Wednesday due to rain and safety concerns.
The Path of Totality tour promoting the bands latest studio album of the same name,was initially scheduled to include performances in Gurgaon,Mumbai and Bangalore. The concert in Gurgaon took place on Wednesday at Leisure Valley as scheduled.
Our decision was made in the interest of safety of the fans post a thorough inspection of the site by engineers and professionals. The Delhi and Bangalore concerts are being held as planned,said Karamjeet Singh,Senior Vice President,Mooz Entertainment,the company organising this tour.
The Mumbai police,however,have not been notified of the cancellation yet. The management had approached us for permission and no objection certificate,which were given. We have not been notified yet about the cancellation, said CJ Bhosle,Senior Police Inspector,BKC Police Station.
The organisers have promised a full refund to all ticket-holders and a complimentary Path of Totality t-shirt as a goodwill gesture. Fans who bought tickets for the Mumbai concert are also being given the option to upgrade their tickets for the one in Bangalore without any additional cost.
Korns India visit is the last leg of their world tour to promote The Path of Totality.
Bangalore has been home to rock and metal concerts in India,but until recently,Mumbai also featured prominently on their list of concert venues.
Last year,however,the prominent metal band Metallica scheduled its concerts only in Bangalore and Gurgaon on their first tour of the country and later this year,another metal band,Slayer,will play only in Bangalore.
