Khadse will lead BJP in Assembly,maybe Oppn too

BJP sources said since they were the single largest party in the House,their leader would naturally lead the Opposition. Gopinath Munde,who was leader of the BJP in the House till he was elected an MP,said “Today,Khadse has been appointed not just as the leader of the party in the House,but also as the leader of the largest Opposition party. Khadse is an aggressive leader and we expect him to ensure that people’s concerns find a place in government policy.”

Khadse said,“I have been elected the leader of the party in the Assembly. The government is yet to be formed and no claims have been made for the post of Leader of the Opposition. The two partners are yet to meet.” He criticised the Congress-NCP combine for delaying government formation with their fight for portfolios.

Jaitley said anti-incumbency votes were split during the Assembly elections,and despite “not being popular,they have been given a chance”. He said recent incidents showed that the government has run out of ideas to deal with terrorism and Maoist violence and has no plans to contain inflation and recession.

The executive committee of the BJP’s state unit is scheduled to meet in the first week of November to analyse the poor performance in the polls.
