IRCTC terminates contract of CST food plaza, to invite fresh tenders

Sunil Sood General Manager Central Railway recently said,"Very soon, tenders will be floated for these food plazas.’’

The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has terminated the allotment of Refresh food plazas at mainline and suburban concourse halls at Chhtrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST) and will very soon invite tenders for food plazas. According to Pankaj Goel, Managing Director of Goel and Goel, if IRCTC invites tenders , he will soon approach the court.

Sunil Sood General Manager Central Railway recently said,”Very soon, tenders will be floated for these food plazas.’’

In 2008, IRCTC had given contract to Goel and Goel company for running Food plaza at main line and suburban concourse halls at CST.
According to IRCTC officials , two years back, Goels’ sublet first floor and some other part of the plaza to Ranjit Singh known as Raja Sahab Kok Singh Bhadauria, thereby violating the rules of the agreement.

Following a dispute between Goel and Singh, the Goel  went to the small causes court at Mumbai. Meanwhile, IRCTC asked Central Railway administration to evacuate these Refresh food plazas.

With the help of police, the administration sealed Refresh food plaza on the main line concourse hall at CST on July  18 and later the Refresh unit at suburban side on August 11.

Termning it as injustice on the part of IRCTC, Goel said,”For the last two years, I have filed complaints with the Government Railway Police and even written letters to IRCTC and Railway Board to evacuate this person from my place. I never sublet it, this person Ranjit Singh occupied my place and even engaged in physical fight with my manager and other staff. He has prepared forged agreement and submitted all forged documents. I reported this incident to authorities but they never came to my rescue,” alleges Goel.

“Why has IRCTC not taken any action  against Singh even though he had forged cards for his vendors. I am the legal owner of Refresh outlets and I have paid licence fee of Rs 78 lakh per year for both outlets. There is no due pending on me,’’ said Goel.
