Social media influencer Rajshree More filed a police complaint against Rahil Shaikh, son of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) leader Javed Shaikh, on Sunday night, alleging that he rammed his car into her vehicle in an inebriated state in Andheri area of Mumbai.

An FIR was filed at Amboli police station against Rahil under relevant sections of Motor Vehicle Act and Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita for rash and negligent driving, outraging or insulting the modesty of a woman, endangering personal safety and drunken driving.

Dikshit Gedam, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Zone 9 said, “We have registered a case and have seized the vehicle. Our probe is on.”

In a video posted on social media, More alleged that Rahil was driving under the influence of alcohol when the accident occurred, and behaved aggressively, used abusive language, along with issuing threats. More recorded parts of their exchange and shared it on Instagram.

The video, which has since gone viral, shows a partially clothed man speaking aggressively and refusing to cooperate with police personnel present at the scene. The woman is seen confronting the man, alleging that he was abusing and threatening her, besides driving the vehicle under the influence of alcohol. The man was also seen apologising to her and offering compensation, but More questions him on driving under the influence of alcohol.

In the video she posted on Instagram, she can be seen asking the accused which party he belongs to — MNS or Shiv Sena, to which he replies that he is from MNS.

“Oh so you are from MNS… You guys teach Marathi to people na…,” she says, to which the accused uses abusive language and then says, “My father is the deputy head of state unit (of MNS).”

She questions, “So you keep ramming people’s car?”

The accused says, “So take money na…,” again using an abusive language. The woman then says, “Oh! you are abusing me now.”

Earlier this week, More had posted a video on social media, criticising the people of Maharashtra, commenting on their work ethic. The video drew much criticism online, following which the MNS filed a complaint against her. She removed the post after the complaint and issued a clarification along with an apology.

A police officer from Oshiwara confirmed the incident and said, “MNS workers approached us with the complaint but since More apologised and deleted the video, the matter was closed.”

In the video that she posted on Instagram last week, she was purportedly seen saying that Maharashtrians lack the ability to work hard and that they should be taught the same. She goes on to say that if people from other states leave Mumbai, the condition of Maharashtrians would become miserable.

The video received severe backlash and More was heavily trolled, after which workers from Versova unit of MNS filed a complaint against More at Oshiwara police station.

More was made to apologise and was instructed to delete the video. In a video she posted later, she was seen saying, “Hello, I am Rajshree More. I had posted a video earlier in which I used inappropriate words about Marathi people. I take back those words. I didn’t know that a political party would turn my video into a political issue and that I would be targeted at Oshiwara police station. I take back my words.”

“I thank the personnel at Oshiwara police station and the Mumbai Police. I was targeted, but police handled the situation well. I request my Marathi brothers and sisters not to hold any misunderstanding about me in their hearts,” she added.
