THE STATE government's decision to appoint a panel of nine private recruitment agencies to hire contractual workers to 'minimise the expenditure on the administration' has come under the scanner as the Congress on Tuesday alleged that it was the ploy to end reservation of OBCs, SC and ST and that the recruitment agencies are linked to the ruling BJP. On September 6, the state's labour department issued a government resolution ordering a panel of nine agencies from which state departments, semi-government bodies, local civic bodies, corporations, public sector entities and other bodies will have to recruit contractual labour. It has given 138 categories, where the recruitment can be done on a contractual basis. Leader of Opposition Vijay Wadettiwar said, "At least two lakh contractual labourers will be recruited through this process. This is a government service where private employees will be exposed to government documents. Secondly, allowing lakhs of contractual workers will end reservation in government jobs and this will eventually wipe out OBCs, SCs and STs." Wadettiwar alleged that the 15% service tax from each worker to be charged by the companies is nothing but the amount that the BJP will use for its election campaign. "The companies which are on the panel are related to the BJP leaders. The money they are going to collect will only be used by the BJP for its election campaign,” said the Congress leader. The nine companies on the panel are Aksentt Tech Services Limited, CMS IT Services Pvt. Ltd., CSC e-Governance Services India Limited, Innowave IT Infrastructure Limited, Krystal Integrated Services Pvt. Ltd., S2 Infotech International Limited, Sainik Intelligence Security Private Limited, Singh Intelligence Security Pvt. Ltd and Urmila International Services Pvt. Ltd. Among this, Krystal Integrated Services Pvt. Ltd is linked to BJP MLC Prasad Lad while Innowave in the past has worked with the state government in 2018 on farm loan waiver scheme but had faced criticism over the implementation.
