Heavy rain in Mumbai disrupts train services on Kalyan-Kasara section of CR

According to a press release issued by the Central Railway Public Relations office, heavy rainfall and flash floods in the Vasind-Khardi section from 3 am to 6 am damaged the track embankment, tilted the overhead electric (OHE) mast foundation, and uprooted trees, leading to service disruptions. The vigilance of Loco Pilots of Vidarbha Express (Train No. 12106) and Punjab Mail (Train No. 12138) helped detect the damage, allowing for the safe stoppage of trains.

Due to this disruption, five long-distance trains were short-terminated, and four other mail express trains were short-originated from alternate stations. The CSMT-Jalna Vande Bharat originated from Igatpuri towards Jalna, the CSMT-Nagpur Sewagram Express, the CSMT-Hingoli Deccan JanShatabdi Express, and the CSMT-Dhule Express originated from Nashik Road. Eleven long-distance trains were diverted, and nine trains were rescheduled on Sunday.
Three other trains were rescheduled on Monday, namely the CSMT-Varanasi Express (Train No. 22177) at 3 am, the LTT-Gorakhpur Express (Train No. 22538) at 5 am, and the LTT-Gorakhpur Express (Train No. 15017) at 9 am.
Meanwhile, heavy rainfall in the Kalamboli-Panvel area resulted in waterlogging at Kalamboli station. The area recorded 111 mm of rainfall in five hours between 4 am and 9 am, causing both up and down traffic to be suspended from 10.30 am to 12.05 pm.
