Crime Branch officers said that the arrested accused, identified as Kishore Patel, is a Gujarat-based supplier of methanol. Patel was brought to Mumbai from Gujarat for inquiries after his name came up in the interrogation of Mansoor Latif Khan alias Atique who was arrested in the case earlier.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Detection) Dhananjay Kulkarni confirmed the arrest and added that Patel would be produced in the esplanade court by Friday afternoon.

“Investigations so far indicate that the methanol was passed on from Patel to Khan to Francis D’Mello, who then mixed water in it and supplied it to local liquor den runners in Malwani. ,” said a Crime Branch officer.
