The Bombay High Court Thursday directed Pakistani singer Adnan Sami to file an application specifying the details of his overseas engagements,if he wished to travel abroad. Sami claimed that he was facing unimaginable harassment from ex-wife Sabah Galadari. The court was hearing Galadaris plea for canceling permission given to Sami to travel abroad as he had failed to furnish a fresh security for anticipatory bail granted to him. Justice M L Tahaliyani had recently issued a notice to Sami on Galadaris application for cancelling permission given to the singer to travel abroad,as his surety of Rs 1.50 crore had been withdrawn by a couple who took the undertaking. Arguing for Galadari,Mahesh Jethmalani and Edith Dey said Sami hadnt complied with an earlier High Court order. When Justice R P Sondurbaldota asked the singer whether he had complied with the order,Sami, arguing in person, replied,I complied till the time parties withdrew the surety on their own. Sami also said that ever since the surety was given,he had traveled abroad 19 times and returned. The court told Sami that he was required to make arrangements for the surety and wasnt allowed to travel abroad till then. Sami pleaded that he had to travel abroad for shows, saying,It is my livelihood. I am going to two places - Australia and New Zealand - and they are advertised already. Adjourning the matter for a week, the court asked Sami to file an application giving details of his itinerary and engagements. aamir.khan@expressindia.com
