Girl on way to school killed as dumper collides with two-wheeler

The girl, Vinmayi More, who lived with her family in Malad, was on the way to her school when the accident happened.

When the the two-wheeler, driven by her father Ramesh More, took a left turn on a stretch opposite Oberoi Mall, the dumper, which also took a turn, allegedly dashed More’s vehicle, said a police source.

Dur to the impact of the collision, More was thrown away at a distance while Vinmayi fell down and came under the wheels of the dumper, the source added.

A local resident informed Dindoshi police who reached the spot and rushed the two injured to the nearby hospital.

Vinmayi was declared dead before admission while her father was admitted and is currently undergoing treatment.

The police later arrested the absconding driver, Rahul Jadhav (22).

The police were yet to receive his blood test report to ascertain if he was in an inebriated state at the time of the incident, an officer said.
