Gawli down with cerebral malaria,in hospital

Gangster-turned-politician Arun Gawli has been admitted in the state-run St George hospital for the last 15 days for treatment of cerebral malaria

Mumbai: Gangster-turned-politician Arun Gawli has been admitted in the state-run St George hospital for the last 15 days for treatment of cerebral malaria.

According to JJ hospital dean,Dr T P Lahane,Gawli is now recuperating. “He is in a stable condition and will be discharged in a few days,” Lahane said.

Gawli is the founder of the political outfit,Akhil Bharatiya Sena.

Cerebral malaria,a dangerous form of malaria the affects the brain,is caused by a protozoan parasite. Its symptoms include fever,chills and profuse sweating. In extreme cases,patients can even go into a coma.
