THE FACEBOOK account used by gangster Anmol Bishnoi, brother of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, to claim responsibility for the firing outside actor Salman Khan’s house was created on the same day the incident took place, technical analysis of the post has revealed. While the post appears to have been uploaded from Portugal, the police suspect a VPN has been used and the post was uploaded from another country by Anmol. The police had taken down the post hours after it was uploaded by Anmol after the incident.

An officer said, “The account was created on the same day by the gangster whose modus operandi is to claim responsibility on social media platforms.” The police are gathering evidence of the involvement of Anmol with teams fanned out to various states like Punjab and Delhi to gather data on Anmol’s past record.

A source said, “There are over 10 cases against Anmol including those related to extortion.” The police are also trying to gather Anmol’s voice samples from across the country to match it with some samples they have recovered. “Once we gather enough evidence, further procedures against him will take place,” the officer said. As a next step, the police will issue a Look Out Circular (LOC) against him. As of now, however, Anmol has not been named as an accused in the case.

Further, the police have found that the two arrested accused in the case, Sagar Pal and Vicky Gupta, visited Salman Khan’s Panvel farmhouse a few days prior to the firing outside the actor’s Bandra residence. “We suspect it was their backup plan if they failed in Mumbai,” an officer said.

The police have further found that the two accused had firearms delivered to their Panvel residence where they were staying on rent nearly three weeks prior to the attack. The police suspect they conducted training in shooting at their residence in Bihar where they had gone to celebrate Holi for a few days before returning to the city.

The crime branch further got the younger brother of Gupta to the city for questioning from Chandigarh where he is working. “We are questioning him to find out if he has any relation with the case,” the officer added.

The firing incident took place in the wee hours of Sunday when the two-bike borne accused fired five rounds outside the actor’s Bandra residence before fleeing. The actor has been on the radar of the Bishnoi gang for the 1998 blackbuck case in Rajasthan. Blackbuck is considered a holy animal by the Bishnoi community.
