A fire broke out and spread through an eight-storey building comprising commercial establishments in Santacruz East early on Wednesday. No injuries were reported in the blaze, which was extinguished after three hours, officials said. According to fire personnel, the blaze was reported at 6.04 am at Windsor building on CST road. According to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), the fire spread accross 4,000-5,000 square feet at the Prime RMC company’s office on the seventh floor. The Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB) said that the fire was confined to electrical wiring, server panels, office records, laptops, computers and furniture within premises. The entire floor was filled with smoke. The fire was brought under control by 9.29 am, officials said.
