Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Wednesday said 6,512 buildings are being subjected to fire audit across Mumbai and its suburbs.

The municipal body has identified establishments, including residential complex and commercial in six categories, which are not conforming to the fire-safety regulation norms.

The state government will also evolve an elaborate standard operation procedure (SOP) for 4,000 private-licensed fire audit agencies to make them more responsible and accountable for ensuring fire safety in establishments.
