Failed SSC students get second chance, retest in July
From the next year, students who cannot clear the SSC exam even in the second attempt will be provided with career counselling.

State Education Minister Vinod Tawde Thursday announced that there will be a re-examination for students who failed the SSC exam, in the first week of July this year, so that they do not lose a year.
The minister also said that from the next year, students who cannot clear the SSC exam even in the second attempt will be provided with career counselling and the SSC marksheet will not say that a student has failed. Instead, it will say a student has “passed for July re-exam or passed 10th standard for career counselling.”

While complimenting the students who were successful in the SSC exams, results for which were declared on Monday, June 8, Tawde had said that from next year, the SSC and HSC results would be declared around mid-May so that re-exam for unsuccessful students can be conducted before the next academic year starts. However, Tawde on Thursday announced the re-exam for the failed will start from this year itself.
“The exam will be held in the second week of July and results will be declared by August 20 so that they can start their next academic year from September 1. It will help them save a year and progress academically,” Tawde said.
Application forms for the July exam will be accepted from June 15, the minister said. In this year’s SSC exam, while 14.38 lakh students cleared the exam, nearly 1.50 lakh students failed.
