Delhi Metro Rail Corporation to run Mumbai’s first underground metro line

The DMRC will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the line including the running of trains, maintenance of the trains and the metro systems infrastructure, and ensuring the safety of passengers.

The MMRC, which is constructing the underground line, will be responsible for its revenue management, legal compliances and non-fare-box revenue generation.

The line spans approximately 33.5 km and is expected to cost nearly Rs 37,000 crore. The first phase of the project, between Bandra Kurla Complex and SEEPZ, is expected to be open to the public by December.
