Mumbai-Agra highway: 10 killed as truck rams bus stop, eatery, many vehicles in Dhule
The police said the truck initially hit a pedestrian near Parmar Hotel, and then rammed into two two-wheelers and then a four-wheeler.

At least 10 people including three minors died and 30 others were injured after a trailer truck hit a container vehicle, a four-wheeler and a couple of two-wheelers before ramming a restaurant and subsequently a bus stop in Maharashtra’s Dhule district on Tuesday.
The accident occurred on the Mumbai-Agra highway near Palasner village along the Madhya Pradesh border.
According to police officials, the truck was heading to Dhule from Indore when it allegedly developed brake failure and the 46-year-old driver, identified as Kanaiyalal Banjara, lost control over the vehicle.
The Shirpur Taluka police in Dhule, who are investigating to ascertain the exact cause of the accident, said that they have registered a case under relevant sections of culpable homicide not amounting to murder along with rash and negligent driving under Indian Penal Code and Motor Vehicle Act against Banjara.
An officer said, “Banjara and cleaner of the trailer Surpal Rajput died in the incident. However, as per protocol we have registered a case against him and after completing our investigation, we will file a summary report in court.”
As per the statement of an eye witness in the case, identified as Lotan Mohan Jagdev, the truck was in a high speed and it initially hit a container near Parmar Hotel, and then rammed a four-wheeler.
“The driver lost control over the wheels and then the trailer dashed a few two wheelers, following which it went into a small eatery and then crashed onto a bus stop next to it,” the officer added.
The trailer came to a stop after it toppled.
The police complaint read that the trailer crashed into ten vehicles before it overturned and fell on the side of the road.
A team from the Dhule police reached the spot and all the injured were rushed to the nearby hospital. But ten people including Banjara and Rajput were declared dead before being admitted to the hospital.
Among the others who succumbed to their injuries are Pratap Singh Bhim Singh Girase (70), Nirmala Pavara (15), Pankaj Pavara (7), Sanjay Pavara (38), Ritesh Pawara (14), Bhuri Sursingh Pavara (28), Sunita Rajesh Khandelwal (51) and Dashrat Pavara.
While the driver and the cleaner of the trailer hail from Rajasthan, all the others are residents of Dhule.
