POLICE probing the siphoning off of Rs 2.4 crore from current accounts of RPG Group have sought to scan office email inbox of employees of RPG group of companies. Police suspect a trojan-bearing email was responded to through an official email account.
Worli police have sought help from the cyber crime unit in the multi-level probe,which involves 14 transaction across four states in less than three hours.
Police will check if there was any email transaction between the email accounts of the three accused and any official email ID of RPG employees,said a senior police officer. Three men were picked from Bangalore,Coimbatore and Hyderabad by special teams after the first transaction took place on May 11.
On May 11,cyber criminals allegedly siphoned off Rs. 2.4 crore in three hours after hacking into the firms current accounts. The transfer was made in 13 parts,police said.
