College student ‘attempts suicide’ at railway station toilet

An 18-year-old college student allegedly tried to end her life inside a toilet at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus railway station on Thursday afternoon.

According to police, the college student slit her wrist inside the toilet.
As other women who were inside the toilet screamed for help, the policemen present nearby rushed to the spot and took the injured student to the St George’s hospital.

She is currently in ICU but her condition is stable, police said.

The CSMT railway police would record her statement and find the reason behind her attempt to take the extreme step.
