Contractor shot at in Santacruz over rivalry

The Santacruz police arrested on Saturday Mohsin Dehlim,28,a contractor,for attempting to murder Siraj Khan,44,a rival contractor. Dehlim along with his brothers— Zulfi and Asif— accosted Khan and his brother Riyaz as the duo were going to their Santacruz residence. After stopping them,Dehlim allegedly took out a revolver and shot at Khan in his head. Khan is presently in the ICU of Nanavati Hospital and in a critical condition.

According to the Santacruz police,they have arrested Delhim from the cremation ground in Khardanda where he was hiding after committing the crime. His brothers are absconding. According to the Santcruz police,Khan and Dehlim are business rivals.

“Khan and Dehlim live in the same area and are at loggerheads,” said Police Inspector Vilas More of Santacruz. “They are business rivals. The shootout was a culmination of the long standing personal enmity between them. We are trying to find the whereabouts of his brothers,” said More.

“Khan is in a very critical condition as he sustained head injury,” said More. The Nanavati Hospital authorities have also confirmed the same. “He is in a critical condition,” said hospital authorities.
