Sion Koliwada Congress Committee on Monday organised a protest against state government’s alleged failure to deliver the promised “Anandacha Shidha” — ration kits for card holders.

In February, Maharashtra government had announced that it would gift ration items at a subsidised rate of Rs 100 to ration card holders for Gudi Padwa and Ambedkar Jayanti. The scheme was expected to benefit 1.6 crore ration card holders who were supposed to be getting a kilo each of rava, chana dal, sugar, and a litre of palm oil.

Mumbai Congress General Secretary Amit Jagannath Shetty led the protest claiming that the people were yet to get benefit of the scheme.
