City And Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) Thursday announced a reduction in Metro ticket fares for the Belapur-Pendhar corridor, lowering the highest fare slab from Rs 40 to Rs 30. This new fare structure will come into effect from September 7. Under the revised rates, the minimum fare will remain at Rs 10, while the maximum fare will now be Rs 30. CIDCO stated that the fare adjustment aims to encourage greater use of the newly launched Metro service. The revised fares are as follows: Rs 10 for the first 0-4 km; Rs 20 for 4-8 km stretches; and Rs 30 for 8-10 km and beyond. Previously, the fare from Belapur Terminal to Pendhar was Rs 40. The Navi Mumbai Metro Corridor Numbrt 1, stretching from Belapur to Pendhar, was developed by CIDCO as part of the Navi Mumbai Metro project. This corridor connects key areas such as CBD, Taloja MIDC, and CIDCO's housing complexes at Kharghar. Metro services on this line commenced on November 17, 2023.
