Cidco announces prices for affordable housing projects in Navi Mumbai; prices start from Rs 25 lakh

The City and Industrial Development Corporation of Maharashtra (Cidco) has announced the prices for 26,000 houses under its affordable housing scheme, My Preferred Cidco Home, at locations in Navi Mumbai. Due to its overwhelming response, the deadline to apply for the scheme, designed to provide housing to economically weaker sections (EWS) and low-income groups (LIG), was extended thrice. The final date to apply online is January 10.

The projects are spread across nine prominent nodes of Navi Mumbai, including Vashi, Bamandongri, Kharghar, Taloja, Mansarovar, Khandeshwar, Panvel, Kalamboli, and Kharkopar. Cidco’s initiative aligns with its objective of offering affordable housing under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY).

The houses are categorised into EWS and LIG groups. For the EWS category, catering to individuals with an annual income of up to ₹6 lakh, prices range from ₹25 lakh to ₹48 lakh. For the LIG category, aimed at those earning above ₹6 lakh annually, the prices are between ₹34 lakh and ₹97 lakh.

Cidco expects a surge in applications now that the pricing is transparent. Earlier, many applicants had adopted a “wait and watch” approach as the prices were not disclosed initially.

“We hope to see strong participation from the public in the coming days,” said a Cidco official.
