Ongoing efforts to boost train speeds on the Daund-Solapur-Gulbarga-Wadi section, spanning 337.44 km are underway. The Central Railway (CR) has increased the speed of 30 long-distance mail and express trains to up to 130 kmph from Wednesday onwards. These trains include the LTT-Hatia-LTT SF bi-weekly express, LTT-Visakhapatnam-LTT SF weekly express, LTT-Puri-LTT SF weekly express, and several others, running across various CR routes.
The speed enhancement comes after the Central Railway recently fortified and upgraded tracks along the Wardha-Badnera section, covering a stretch of 95.44 km. Consequently, these thirty trains will now be able to operate at increased speeds on this particular segment. Additionally, track improvements have been completed on several other sections, such as Igatpuri-Nashik-Bhusaval-Akola-Badnera (526.65 km), Pune-Daund (75.59 km), and Itarsi-Nagpur-Wardha-Ballarshah (509.05 km). This enhancement covers a total stretch of 1206.73 km.
