An unidentified person on a two-wheeler died in an accident after he came under the rear wheel of a BEST bus on wet lease on Sunday. The incident took place around 11:30 am on the route between Gorai Depot and Gorai Akashvani Bus Stop. The bus was operated by Evey Group. The bus was on route no. A-277 and was heading towards Borivali Station West from Kandivali Railway Station West. According to preliminary reports, the rider of an Activa lost control of his vehicle, causing it to skid. The rider came under the right rear tyre of the bus, sustaining severe head injuries. The bus driver, identified as 28-year-old Sandesh Shrikant Sutar, and conductor, 44-year-old Ramesh Motiram Rathod, acted promptly and rushed the injured rider to Bhagwati Hospital. After receiving first aid, he was transferred to Shatabdi Hospital in Kandivali. However, the on duty doctor Dr Kranti declared the rider dead at 12:30 pm. According to officials, the identity of the deceased remained unknown as no identification documents or evidence regarding the person's name and address were found at the scene of the accident. The incident was registered with the local police station and an investigation underway. The bus driver and conductor were cooperating with the investigation led by Police Inspector Ravindra Korde. Representatives from BEST and the Evey Group are also involved in handling the case.
