The BMC on Saturday demolished a bungalow near Madh beach.

The BMC on Saturday demolished a bungalow near Madh beach. The two-storey structure was constructed in the Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) a few years ago without permission from the civic body,said a BMC official.

A 48-hour notice was served on Shailesh Agrawal,the owner of the bungalow,on Thursday. The notice was issued under Section 351 of the BMC Act. As many as 15 civic employees and two earthmovers were brought in to raze the building.

According to the BMC,it had served a stop-work notice on the builders in 2004 when the bungalow was being built.
