BMC proposes beautification plan for Siddhi Vinayak temple

According to civic officials, all existing roads between Dadar station and the temple will be widened. A two-way bus service will also be started between the station and platform

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has taken up a special drive that will involve the beautification of roads between Dadar station and Siddhi Vinayak Temple.

According to civic officials, all existing roads between the station and the temple will be widened. They also said that a two-way bus service will be started between the station and platform.

Located at Dadar East, the Siddhi Vinayak temple is one of the most prominent locations in Mumbai dedicated to Hindu God, Ganesha. The origin of this temple dates back to the 18th century, when it was constructed by Ahilyabai Holkar. The temple is thronged by thousands of visitors daily.

The BMC’s overall plan also involves giving the entire area a major facelift.
“This project will include widening roads and existing parkings lot for devotees. Existing security measures at the temple will also be upgraded for devotees,” an official said.

The officials also said that for this project, the BMC might float a global Expression of Interest (EoI) to seek bids from contractors.

“The project will be taken up by the deputy Municipal commissioner’s office and a detailed project report will be created, soon after, tenders will be floated,” the official said.
