BJP will never have any alliance with NCP: Fadnavis

State BJP president Devendra Fadnavis on Friday ruled out the possibility of any post-poll alliance with NCP.

State BJP president Devendra Fadnavis on Friday ruled out the possibility of any post-poll alliance with NCP.

“The BJP was at the forefront while exposing the scams by the NCP ministers, including by deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar,” he said.

“There will never, never, never be any alliance between BJP and NCP in Maharashtra,” Fadnavis said while spelling out a long list of issues which were raised by him in the state Assembly about crucial sectors of irrigation, power and finance to put Pawar in the dock.

Several leaders in Congress and Shiv Sena have been talking about a possible BJP-NCP alliance post-polls. Senior Congress leaders pointed out that the moment BJP-Sena alliance collapsed, NCP declared to go it alone, severing ties with Congress. Even the Sena appears to be using the BJP-NCP nexus theory to argue its own case.

Surprisingly, the credence to the BJP-NCP alliance gained ground as a section within the BJP, sharing cordial relations with Pawars, often hinted how the ministry of defence was still not allocated to anybody at the Centre.

However, Fadnavis has maintained that his party could lower their guard in campaign when it came to attacking the NCP ministers and leaders for corruption.

Even during the Lok Sabha elections,Fadnavis had asserted his view point before the central leaders. And not surprisingly, Narendra Modi, in the public rallies in Maharashtra, spoke against NCP and Sharad Pawar on agriculture failure and plight of farmers in state. In a veiled attack against Sena, he said, “Whether it was investigation in multi-crore irrigation scam or coal scam in power sector held by Ajit Pawar, we diligently pursued the issue in Assembly.”

Thus, implying that the Shiv Sena was always found on the back-foot when it came to exposing corruption in the Congress-NCP government. Fadnavis also said, “ All India BJP president Amit Shah at the party’s conclave also made a scathing attack against NCP president Sharad Pawar while speaking about the farmers suicide and agrarian crisis in Maharashtra.”
