Bharat Jodo Yatra anniversary: Cong to conduct yatras in all Maharashtra districts on Sept 7

As per the instructions issued to state leaders, on September 7, at 1pm, key party leaders in all districts will hold press conferences “to expose how the Modi government at the Centre has looted the public”.

To commemorate the first anniversary of the Bharat Jodo Yatra undertaken by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, the Maharashtra unit of the party will conduct yatras in all districts of the state on September 7, followed by public meetings.

“The Bharat Jodo Yatra led by Congress leader and MP Rahul Gandhi from Kanyakumari to Kashmir, covering 4,000 kilometres, united the country. On September 7, it will be one year since Rahulji embarked on this historic journey. To commemorate this, we will celebrate the first anniversary by organising a Bharat Jodo Yatra in all districts of Maharashtra,” said Congress state unit chief Nana Patole.

As per the instructions issued to state leaders, on September 7, at 1pm, key party leaders in all districts will hold press conferences “to expose how the Modi government at the Centre has looted the public”.

After the press conference, a march will be conducted between 5 pm and 6 pm, followed by a public meeting from 6 pm to 7 pm. “The Bharat Jodo march will begin from historic sites in all districts,” said Patole.

The party has already kick-started Jansamvad Yatras in different parts of the state where senior party leaders are given the task to visit areas on foot and interact with citizens, on the lines of Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra.

For this programme, responsibilities have been assigned to Congress leaders based on districts. Patole is in charge of Nagpur, former Chief Minister Ashok Chavan will be in Nanded, Legislative Assembly party leader Balasaheb Thorat in Ahmednagar, Opposition party leader Vijay Wadettiwar in Akola, former Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan in Pune district, state working president Arif Naseem Khan in Thane district, CWC member and state working president Chandrakant Handore will be in Nashik, Legislative Council group leader Satej Patil in Kolhapur, State working President Baswaraj Patil in Aurangabad, state working president and MLA Praniti Shinde will be incharge of Solapur and state working president MLA Kunal Patil in Jalgaon.
