“Tt is shocking to see how inhumane the assault was. Borhade, who was injured in the assault, was admitted to the Ghati Hospital. I had instructed that he should be admitted to a private hospital. Accordingly, he is undergoing treatment now. I also spoke to Borade over the phone and assured him that the government is with him,” Shinde said.

Stating that the accused in the case will not be spared, he told the House, “The process of imposing MCOCA on them will be done through the Home Department.”

The issue was also raised in the state Assembly by senior NCP MLA Chhagan Bhujbal who highlighted the recent incidents of murders in Maharashtra and urged the Speaker to take a lead in bringing together politicians, social workers, representatives of various communities and journalists to address the issue.

“In Jalna, a young man of Dhangar community faced brutal beating… He was burned with hot rods. Will anyone speak on this? Shouldn’t justice be equal to all?,” Bhujbal asked during the discussion on resolution of vote of thanks on the Governor’s address to the joint session of the state legislature. Shinde reiterated his reply from the legislative council.
