NCP MP Supriya Sule Tuesday dismissed ‘rumours’ of fellow NCP leader and cousin Ajit Pawar joining hands with the BJP.
Sule, daughter of NCP chief Sharad Pawar, said controversies are created about those who are popular. “We are in touch with all party legislators and leaders. Ajit Pawar is in Vidhan Bhavan for official work and not out of reach,” she told reporters in Pune.
Most legislators normally visit Vidhan Bhavan on Tuesdays for official work, Sule said, adding that it was routine for all legislators to get development works done in their respective assembly constituencies with the approval of the state government.
Asked about reports of 40 NCP legislators expressing dissent, Sule said the news was false and the MLAs never said anything to her regarding this.
NCP chief Sharad Pawar has already cleared the air over the speculations, Sule said. She added that her cousin Ajit Pawar does not talk to the media much and is always busy with work.
Meanwhile, Sule met the representatives of Vetal Tekdi Bachav Kruti Samiti at Law College Road in Pune. “I saw the site from where the road is proposed. I wonder why the administration does not consider it as part of the hill,” she said.
“Environment cannot be damaged for development work. I think the administration should discuss the project with the public and find a solution to it. The present proposal does not seem to be feasible,” the NCP MP added.
