Guardian Minister of Mumbai Mangal Prabhat Lodha Monday urged the Mumbai police to take action against delivery executives of online food ordering portals who make excessive noise with their bikes late at night. Lodha, who is also the MLA from south Mumbai's Malabar Hill constituency, also directed the police to find a solution to solve issues related to traffic congestion that are allegedly caused due to the delivery persons. Lodha’s move comes after local residents from Tardeo's Arya Nagar and Janata Nagar held a protest against delivery executives. “Throughout the night, the presence of over 100 bikers has been causing disturbances in the area, causing local residents to face a range of issues including noise pollution, increased traffic, and ongoing safety and security concerns on a daily basis. Although a complaint was filed with the local police station, no permanent solution was found, prompting the citizens to protest,” Lodha's statement read. Lodha's office said that after the minister's intervention, the police acknowledged the complaint. Following the protest, the Tardeo police registered a case of molestation against unknown persons after five women complained of eve-teasing in the area by these delivery executive working with an app based delivery companies.
