A day after Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar made a symbolic statement, saying ‘it is time to spin the bread on the oven to prevent it from getting charred’ while hinting at an organisational overhaul in the party, his nephew and NCP leader Ajit Pawar said this has been the tradition for years in the NCP.
“In his 60-year-long political career, he has ‘spinned the bread’ many times, which has brought many people to the front. When we were in our 40s, we were given an opportunity in the party and state by him. It helped us showcase our work in the state,” said Ajit Pawar while speaking to mediapersons on Thursday.
“Even I feel that new workers should come up, be it in Assembly or in Parliament or other organisations. Even party office-bearers should be changed. This has been the tradition for years. New ones come forward, old ones move to the back,” he added.
While addressing the party’s youth wing on Tuesday, Sharad Pawar had said, “It is time to spin the bread on the oven to prevent it from getting charred. And I will insist other senior leaders do that within the party”.
Earlier, the NCP chief had said that those who have been working in the youth organisation for more than five to seven years should be inducted into the main party.
