The state board is racing against time to revise the online format for admission to Class XI,with new provisions necessary for ICSE students after the Supreme Court gave them the option of choosing their best five-scoring subjects.

The current software is designed to accept scores of five subjects from state board students (for whom the best-five formula was originally planned) and CBSE students.

“At present, students are able to log on to the website and see the registration window. On July 16,the part B form will be open to students. We are sure that the technical software changes will be made before Friday,” the official said.

The board has asked colleges to conduct extra classes to make up for lost time. “We are also considering reducing the time period of admissions from 45 days so that classes can begin latest by August 10,” added the official.

ICSE schools say students will have the sole choice to choose either their best five subjects or all seven subjects. Gerry Arathoon, general secretary of the ICSE Schools Council of India, said that there was no question of reworking marksheets.
