Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh Monday filed a police complaint after an alleged deepfake video of him supporting a political party's ideology surfaced on social media platforms. Issuing a statement, Singh’s spokesperson on Monday said, "We have filed the police complaint against the handle that was promoting the AI-generated deepfake video of Ranveer Singh.” While the video, from the actor's recent visit to Varanasi, appears genuine, the audio is allegedly an AI-enabled voice clone of Ranveer, the statement said. The actor also posted a message on X, “Deepfake se bacho dostonnnn .” A representative of the actor has submitted a complaint application to the Dadar police station. Confirming the development, Zone-5 DCP Tejaswi Satpute said, “The Dadar Police station has received a complaint application from actor Ranveer Singh regarding his deepfake video, and further inquiry is being done. No FIR has been registered yet.”
