A 40-year-old woman,from New Vishnupuri,Salem Tabri,was booked on Saturday for committing suicide. Usha Sharma,a widow,tried to commit suicide by consuming sleeping pills. She was admitted to Civil Hospital and now she is out of danger. A case under Section 309 of the IPC was registered against her.
Sub-Inspector Surjit Singh,additional SHO at Salem Tabri police station,said the woman consumed sleeping pills on June 20. However,neighbours came to know about this and rushed her to hospital. The woman,in her statement to the police,said she wanted to commit suicide due to her neighbour Neelam Sharma and her husband Bimal Sharma.
When the police investigated the matter,it found that Usha had developed relations with Neelams nephew,who lived in Ferozepur. Neelam came to know about it and stopped her nephew from meeting Usha.
