Vet varsity scientist gets research award

Dr Balwinder Kumar from GADVASU received the Dr J S Pruthi award for the best research paper published in the Journal of Spices and Aromatic Crops for the year 2010.

Dr Balwinder Kumar from GADVASU received the Dr J S Pruthi award for the best research paper published in the Journal of Spices and Aromatic Crops for the year 2010. Kumar received the honour at a symposium on spices and aromatic crops held at University of Agricultural Sciences,Dharwad,Karnataka by the Indian Society of Spices. Kumar’s research article titled “Growth,yield and quality of turmeric as influenced by planting method,plant density and planting material” was adjudged the best research paper published in Journal. He received a certificate and a cash prize for the honour. Balwinder Kumar currently works at the Department of Animal Genetics and Breeding,GADVASU, as a forage crop expert.
