Two days post auction,civic body rejects bid,to conduct e-tendering

Two days after the Ludhiana Municipal Corporation auctioned its multi-level parking for Rs 33.69 lakh,by getting a hike of just Rs 19,000 and after an auction that was earlier cancelled,yet again the civic body has refused to accept the bid and cancelled the auction. Now,for the parking lot situated in MC zone A headquarters,e-tendering will be done to invite bids,and till then MC employees will manage the parking.

Reportedly,the decision came after the mayor wrote a letter to the MC commissioner asking him to “cancel the bid as the hike was very low and to auction the parking lot through a fresh procedure”.

Mayor Harcharan Singh Gohalwaria said,“The bid now stands cancelled and LYR lever,who won the bid,has been informed about it. Now,e-tendering will be done. Till then,MC will manage the parking area. We cannot give it away at a throwaway price”.
